Billings to Yellowstone

Another very cold morning with more snow falling. We headed south west towards Yellowstone National Park, which is located in the top north west corner of Wyoming. It was snowing again by the time we got to Red Lodge for a morning cuppa in a cute little tea room/book store. It was such a gorgeous little town that we had to stay a while and browse at some shops (well it was my birthday !) We enjoyed lunch and a glass of wine in a little bar, watching the snow falling through the window ! Because of the snow, the road we were taking into Yellowstone was closed so we had to back track and enter the Park from the north entrance which added about 3 hours to our trip today, Yellowstone is over 2 million acres ! When we finally made it to our cabin at the Snow Lodge, located in the centre of the Park, John had surprised us with dinner reservations at the Old Faithful Inn, which is the biggest wooden structure in the world (according to Campbell). It was beautiful !

Happy Birthday Sal, what a way to spent your birthday! It looks like you guys are having an amazing time over there in the states. We’re expecting snow in Orange later this week so it’s not much warmer over here. We’re looking forward to getting over there in November!
